Still Editing Photoshoot.

I am still busy editing a photoshoot and may have another one shortly. This means i will be very spurrodic in posting for now.

Yes, you have to lug a lot of crap around shooting on location and that is the client's shoes.

Hint ladies: Do not wear heels when doing a lot of walking around on location for a photoshoot unless you want blisters. :)

Until then...A little "Eric and Sookie Dream Interacton" from True Blood to tide you over.

You bet I will be watching this show tomorrow!

Busy Period.

I am a bit m.i.a. again as I work on a photoshoot I did this past week. Lots of editing of photos going on at the moment. I will definitely be back and posting after I get done with this busy period. Work just always comes before blogging when money is involved.

Off to get back to editing.

Until then, enjoy the theme song of my latest tv show addiction.

Love Love Love Them!

I found two items of clothing that are out of my price-range but that I love so much!

Above: Light Shearling Jacket by Dacute

And there beyond cool boots:
Above: Bi-color Leather Boots by Camilla Skovgaard

I think both the jacket and the boots would go well together! I would certainly wear them together myself. I love them both.

Also, does anyone else have trouble in wearing white shoes? I used to have a pair that were cool, had black two-tone to them, and were patent but had absolutely nothing that seems to go with them so gave them away to someone who wore them. Then I felt awful about giving them away!

I ask because I see shoes like these:

Above: Two-Tone Leather Sandals by Marni

And I wish I could figure out a way to wear them that does scream, "Look at my white shoes that are bound to be dirty soon!"

Any suggestions on white shoe wearing from fashion lovers out there?

"That's SO Weird!!!!"

Fashionistas who set their own style have heard the phrase "That's SO weird!!!" at least once in their life from a friend, family member, or stranger. Usually referring to an item of clothing that not everyone is wearing and stands out in a crowd. I know I have heard this phrase many times in my lifetime.

What the "That is so weird" people do not realise is that item of clothing that stands out that you are wearing? It has a 50/50 chance of slowly becoming the new "must have thing" for everyone and their grandmother in a few months time. The mere fact it attracts attention is in favor of this happening.

So, it pays off to be daring with fashion and take fashion chances. Who cares if what catches your eye looks weird to a large fraction of the population? Who cares if people notice it? I mean, isn't that the point? To get noticed in what you are wearing?

I have always been attracted to the eye-catching and unique. It is just how my personality is and fashion sense runs. I take HUGE chances sometimes and wear things that the average mall shopper would laugh at. The amusing thing for me is to see all the copycats that spring up (sometimes) at a later date wearing the exact item of clothing they had deemed "weird" or "strange", and possibly even laughed, at a few months prior.

Now, it's time for my show and tell.

Without further adieu: The odd things that have caught my eye online that I would snap up if I saw them in my shopping travels and they were affordable for me.

Above: Mongolian Shearling-Trimmed Vest by Fendi

I know, I know...it's so over-the-top looking. I love the shearling trim and the stitched border on the vest. It is in my staple, neutral, colour I buy for clothing, grey. Just look at how it looks on an actual human being:

Gorgeous! So gorgeous that it has sold out (currently) on the website! I am not the only person to notice it and decide they loved it.

Above: Women's Koi Fish Ring by Noir

The koi ring caught my eye because it is silver, shiny, unique, and the koi is damn cute! I would wear this ring and make it my "statement piece" for an outfit. It is sure to catch people's eye and to get comments. I know it caught my eye.

Above: Eskimo Sheepskin Boots by Mou

The stitching along the edge of the boots caught my eye. I also love the Eskimo style of the boots. They look comfy to wear and very warm. I want them!

Above: Women's Flutter Sleeve Top by Aryn K

This emerald green top just screams: "Retro 1930's!" Love the flutter sleeves, the gorgeous colour of it, and the belt. I would wear this out on the town in a heartbeat and probably catch many people's attention in it.
Above: Ile Ste. Marie Straw Tote by Mad Imports

The bright, summer-y, colours caught my eye. It is the type of bag that you would carry with you to the beach, while shopping, or while visiting a Greek island. I love the stitching and the use of straw. It's beautiful.
Above: Women's Circle Cut Out Long-Sleeve Top by House of Cassette

It's not so wild you think? You would be surprised how many people avoid patterns and prints that are bold and would draw attention to them. I am all for bold and attention grabbing. I love the off center stripes in the cut-out on the front of this top.

Above: Large Studded Ring at Urban Outfitters

It's a heavy looking, substantial, ring. It is studded and has that slightly antique look to the silver tone. You have to be bold to wear something like this that so obviously gives a nod to punk rock.

Above: Coltrane Ruffle Edge Tote in Black By Twelfth St. By Cynthia Vincet

I love the slightly Scandinavian feel this tote has with it's embroidered design. If you carry it while out and about, you are sure to hear people comment on it.

So be bold, be gutsy, and if it catches your eye...buy it, wear it, own it! Then keep an eye out to see who else ends up wearing it a few months down the road.

Affordable Cool Shoes Under $100.

If you are anything like me, you have a deep love for shoes and always seem to be seeing that perfect pair when out and about. When I worked in a mall, I had to avoid shoe stores on my breaks or I was sure to buy a new pair each time I passed one and a pair caught my eye.

These days, money is something to really consider before making a splurge on a pair of cute shoes. It doesn't mean you have to totally hold tight to that wallet and not buy cool shoes.

Above: Miami-Date Wedges by Pink Studio ($79.99)

The blue colour catches my eye and the wonderful canvas heel with the wave design. I would definitely add these to my shoe collection and wear them often with dark tights in the Fall months...and flared jeans in warmer months/climates.

Above: Rythum Platform Pumps by Paprika ($19.99)

The strappy look to these platform pumps really appeals to me. The back zip makes them easy to put on and you can adjust the buckle to fit your ankle. You could wear them when going out and at the price of $19.99, you won't freak out if they get a bit of wear to them because it's not a lot of money out of pocket.

Above: Border Purple Crinkle Patent Button and Bow Flat By Classified ($19.50)

The purple colour of these flats is eye catching! Imagine the outfit possibilities you could include them in. They would definitely brighten up an outfit or look great with the right print and colours. The large button and bow on the toe adds a bit of fun to the shoes.

Above: Jamison Scrunch Bootie by Fioni ($26.99)

I first saw the above shoe in a print ad and they look great on the foot. I love slouchy look and the way the hell is tapered. Perfect for skirts, pants, jeans, or leggings.

Above: Tessa 29 Black Crinkle Vegan Leather Zipper Flat by Qupid ($23.00)

These flats are all about the zipper. I prefer them in black because the brown colour doesn't show off the zippers as well. I like the style because they are so fun and very "of the moment" while not making the shoes too trendy.

Above: The Double Heel-ixs on Modcloth.com ($42.99)

The colour of the heels is beautiful and the cris-cross design eye-catching. They would be great worn alone with jeans/pants or with brightly coloured tights for Fall.

Above: Pasion Black Snake Hardware Flat by Steve Madden ($69.00)

I love the hardware of the buckles on these flats! The snakeskin look to them captures my eye as well. A tad but "punk rock" and very cool. Perfect addition to an outfit that needs a bit of edge to it.

Above: Reflex Platform Pumps by Delicious ($21.99)

Another strappy pair that have some solidity to them. I love this heeled take on the gladiator sandal. Sure, it may date a bit over the years but at the price of $21.99, it isn't a huge money commitment you are making to them.

There are many shoes (and boots) to be had for under $100 and many of them cool. In this economy, you can still spend a little, look cool, and keep up with the trends without worrying too much about the expense. You just have to keep those eyes open and be a smart shopper.

Fall Is Just Around The Corner.

August is here and the Fall fashions are taking over in the stores. Yep, Autumn is just around the corner.

I am set for Fall when it comes to coats, gloves, and hats but found some that I would definitely like to own if I had the extra cash for them.

I have a huge love for grey pea coats and trench coats. I love the "light neutral" of the colour and even bought one this past winter for myself which I love to death.

Above: Scoop-Pocket Knee Coat at Alloy.

The one above, I would definitely buy if I hadn't because it is stylish, just long enough in hitting above the knee, fully lined, and stylish. It's only $99.90 as well which is a pretty decent price for a coat like this.

I love knee high boots for winter. They keep the snow out and shins warm. I own many black pairs in leather or suede myself but found this pair:

Above: Humvee Grey Flannel Knee High Banded Boot by Blowfish.

I am so tempted to buy them! I love the "buttoned up" look of them, that they are flannel, the dark grey colour, the side zip for on and off, and the price is not bad at $74.50. The "shoe girl' inside me is drooling over them even though I really do not need them.

I have many, many, beanies and hats but this one caught my eye:

Above: Jasmina Pom Hat by Diane von Furstenberg

It is way out of my price range at $150.00 but, if I saw one like it in my wanderings of stores and craft fairs, I would snap it up! It's slouchy (which I love) and has that huge pom on it. I also like the colour palette used in it. Definitely a gorgeous hat!

I have quite a few scarves but this one really catches my eye:

Above: Sheep Scarf from See by Chloe

Yes, there are sheep in the design but you don't notice them at first. I love the warmth of the tan colour in contrast to the black of the sheep...and it is reversible so you can have a black scarf with tan sheep and border! It spendy at $160.00 but very cute.

I bought fingerless gloves at the tale end of winter last year....and love them because they free up the fingers for finding change for the bus, fumbling for credit cards for quick purchases, and doing many things that fingered gloves make impossible.

Above: Leopard-Print Gloves by Christopher Kane

The above gloves are a more spendy ($245.00) than my fingerless gloves but look at that leopard print! Grey leopard print really appeals to me! They also look so well made and are cashmere! Very cool!

Ahhhh, if I only had the money to spend I would be out there looking for great fall/winter things to keep myself toasty warm in the cool months.

Lime Crime Make-Up Coming Out With Lipstick.

I got the email from Lime Crime that a line of lipsticks are going to be released soon.

There will be a pre-sale in September and I may have to check that out. Hope everyone else does as well.

Hot Summer Days.

I know I have been missing in action lately. It's just been way too hot to sit in front of a monitor. So, I have been not online all that much and trying to stay cool.

I do want to share the song that is rocking my world these days:

I loved Jarvis Cocker when he was in pulp and this song just rocks!

Enjoy the song and I will be posting again soonish.
